I will list the legit and most famous companies that provide online job opportunities for search engine evaluators. These companies work for search engine providers such as Google and Microsoft, so most of the work will be related to search results evaluation. The Job

As an Internet Assessor your ultimate goal will be to contribute towards making internet search more exciting, relevant and interesting for all end users in your country. You will play a part in improving the quality of one of the largest search engines in the world.

The internet has now become the powerhouse of all information, everything you need to find or explore can be found on the internet, yet how can we be sure this information is entirely up to date or relevant? This is where you can contribute. We are looking for creative thinkers who enjoy browsing the internet and would like to express their opinion on the quality and content of what is currently out there on the web. You will be provided with guidelines and scoring criteria on how best to evaluate an internet search result.

You will have the flexibility and freedom to work from your own home, working your own hours, depending on availability of tasks (10-20 hours per week). Payment will be based on completion of the agreed upon tasks or engagements within the specified time period.

Interested candidates must first successfully complete an exam before being accepted into the Rating Program. The exam consists of two sections: Section 1 - an "open book" type exam with 32 multiple choice questions and Section 2 consists of 144 practical questions. More detailed information will be provided in the study material.

Requirements:

The skill set for this job is not high-tech, candidates need to be familiar with browsing the internet, be able to read and write fluent English, and have high-speed access to internet. Specifically:

• Fluency in written and verbal English
• Preferred level of education/certification - Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
• Access to and use of a broadband internet connection and associated computer and software to perform the work, all provided at your own expense
• Experience in use of web browsers to navigate and interact with a variety of content
• Time Management Skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• For cultural and historical awareness purposes you must be resident in the country for the last 5 consecutive years

The Job

Web Search Evaluators will review and evaluate internet search results based on specific search terms and provide a rating depending on the relevance of the search result to the search term. The evaluation work is done using an online automated tool.

For most projects, you will be allowed the flexibility to choose the hours you wish to work each day, however you must work 20-22 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday to Friday (no weekend work at this time). The freelance work is expected to extend through August 17th, 2012, possibly beyond.

Requirements:

•   Personal PC that runs Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system and anti-virus software. Windows XP and Apple platforms, including virtual environments are not acceptable.

•   Minimum screen resolution capabilities of 1280 X 768; desired resolution is 1280 X 1024

•   A high-speed internet connection

•  Ability to problem-solve technical/software issues independently

• Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage a 20-22 hours per week self- directed work schedule
